Judith is a Chaplain with the endorsement of the Wrightstown, PA Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). She completed her Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) with a residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia where she served the neonatal, cardiac, spinal trauma and emergency services areas. She was ordained by the All-Faiths Seminary International in New York, NY on August 12, 2000. Judith declines the use of the honorific "Reverend" because of the Quaker tradition of honoring all people as equals by not using titles.

Services she provides as a chaplain include:

  • Funerals and memorial services for those she considers her special ministry: those who want a sacred, spirtual ceremony and have no one else to call.
  • Baptisms and baby naming ceremonies.
  • Officiating at weddings for couples who want a spirit filled ceremony.

As the first Chaplain/Bereavement Coordinator for a New Jersey hospice, she established procedures for the position and visited patients and provided spiritual and emotional support to them and their families.

In July 1999, when Judith became an independent contract/consultant, she provided training programs in grief, trauma, spirituality, diversity and stress management in over 500 facilities for hospice and other healthcare, academic and community agencies.

On November 28, 2001 Judith was honored by being appointed Chaplain of the Newtown Township, PA Police, Fire and Emergency Services Personnel. She provided emotional and spiritual support in crisis situations and also conducted training for township personnel. (click here to see pictures of the appointment).

While speaking at a conference in Baltimore sponsored by the the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists in May 2001, Judith met the pilots and flight attendants of the SouthWest Airlines Crisis Response Team. As a result, she has been trained in Critical Incident Stress Management by SouthWest at Love Field in Dallas,TX and serves as both Chaplain to the team and as a motivational speaker for them.
